On September 12, 2018 three bills were passed by the GPSA assembly.
The meeting opened with a special presentation from Ben Locke, Director of Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS). He discussed the resources available to students and the general public regarding mental health and support, including a hotline. Ben encourages everyone to be mindful of social media posts as hidden cries for help and reach out.
In her report, GPSA President Brianne Pragg expressed the need volunteers for proxies for graduate council, as GPSA’s influence on the council is crucial.
In New Business, two new delegate confirmations took place, and one new associate justice confirmation. Stephen Baksa, Erick Jenkins, and Sid Agrawal were approved by unanimous consent.
Bill 68-07 Winter Gala. Asked for funding for winter gala to reach out to hotels and contracters since contracts take awhile to go through the University. Bill was passed with no objections by roll-call vote.
Bill 68-08 Professional Headshots was passed unanimously. The cost will rise to $800 from last year’s $700 for a service fee.
Bill 68-09: PSU Votes Week Gerrymandering Panel is passed unanimously.
